The perfect wedding venue

We booked this venue for our wedding, staying the long weekend in the main house with our family. The venue is beautiful, the house facilities were great for 17 people with room to spare. Jayne, House Manager was more than helpful throughout the whole process of planning to the day of the event. We thoroughly enjoyed our special day and our stay at Cadhay and would eagerly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue.

A beautiful location for a memorable wedding

We chose to get married in the stunning roof chamber of Cadhay House and it was definitely the right decision. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful and well looked after the house, bedrooms and grounds were. The property struck the perfect balance of feeling like somewhere very special to celebrate, while also leaving us feeling very comfortable and at home for the weekend. Every bedroom is unique and well cared for and it was fantastic to feel like every guest was getting somewhere great to stay. Overall, the weekend was excellent value for money and Jayne was incredibly responsive and helpful in the run up and throughout our stay. We’d love to return as Cadhay is now incredibly special to us!

A very beautiful, historic, comfortable house

This was, I think, our fifteen week spent in Cadhay, which presumably indicates how much we love it. I can still remember when I first arrived there, and promptly messaged the rest of our group to say that it was even better than it looked on the website. It is a beautiful, historic house and it feels like a privilege to stay there - but it is also warm, comfortable, has everything one needs for mass catering, and is extremely well looked after by a helpful and friendly team. The house works well for our large group, and is competitively priced compared to other (less beautiful) large houses, so we look forward to returning year after year.

Great stay at Cadhay

We have stayed at Cadhay several on several occasions and always had a great time. As soon as you walk in the door you know you are somewhere special and we always leave with more great memories. All the rooms are great and done very well and to a great level. It is very comfortable, cosy and well equipped. It is very well run and everyone is very helpful. Would highly recommend it.

Another lovely stay

Had another fabulous weekend at Cadhay. 18 very happy friends. Such a fantastic space for us all to spend time together. Had a great local walk and also enjoyed a game of croquet. I'm sure we will be back again.

Tradition and comfort, perfectly combined in this amazing hous

We were very lucky to join friends for a week staying at Cadhay. A very special treat, perfectly restored and very comfortable and equipped. There are many beautiful rooms, but you never feel overawed and there is a warm and friendly atmosphere. The kitchen has everything you need and there is plenty of hot water!

Idyllic location, beautiful historic house.

We came with four families, and it was our third visit in six years. Cadhay is a beautiful house and we were blessed with fantastic weather. It is such a privilege to spend time in such historic surroundings and a pleasure to see how Rupert continually improves the house and facilities. We have moved around and love the unique experience of the different rooms. A stepladder to reach the bed was fun. The gardens were in peak form and so lovely to relax in. Thank you so much to Rupert, Jayne and the team.

Cadhay is a fabulous house

What an amazing house to stay in. The gardens are really beautiful and it is delightfully peaceful. The owner, Rupert is a real gentleman and very thoughtful and helpful. I highly recommend this to anyone who is considering booking a stay here

A firm favourite

Cadhay House is a firm favourite of all the members of our walking group. We are returning next year for a fifth stay. It’s no exaggeration to say that the property provides gracious accommodation in a perfect location. I don’t actually know of a more beautiful interior for hire anywhere in the country. On top of this the house owner and manager are great. In the best way possible we are made to feel like old friends when we return.

This was our thirteenth stay at Cadhay!

It is a grand and beautiful house and it feels like a privilege to stay there, but it is also cosy and comfortable. The house is always scrupulously clean and beautifully presented, and the owner and manager are helpful and attentive. We have always stayed in winter, and it is a great house for a cold-weather holiday as we stoke up the log burning stoves and enjoy having lots of indoor space for people to spread out. We have booked again for next year.

Cadhay is amazing.

It manages to be huge and full of character, but cosy and welcoming. We loved it.

We had a full house and everyone was amazed by the manor.

We loved the history, the furniture, the little touches everywhere reminding us of the past. We were warm and cosy in this vast house, which is no mean feast on a cold February weekend. Our host was attentive, friendly and a mine of information.

Our first time staying at Cadhay and what a wonderful week we all had.

The house and gardens are stunning. All the rooms are beautifully furnished and immaculate. Great location for exploring the area and an easy walk into Ottery for local amenities. The house is very well equipped to cater for such a large group. Beautiful bedrooms all with lovely bathrooms and an endless supply of hot water. Jayne and Rupert were very attentive and considerate hosts. We are already planning a return visit.
