Perfect for multi-day wedding celebrations, the Tudor Manor House provides luxury self-catering accommodation for up to 22 guests, with three additional on-site holiday cottages sleeping a further 14 guests. This makes Cadhay an exceptional choice for couples looking for a wedding venue with on-site accommodation, allowing family and friends to stay together throughout the days of celebrations.
Beautifully restored, Cadhay combines period features and timeless grandeur with contemporary comforts, making it an ideal setting for relaxed, elegant and informal DIY weddings.

Set within the peaceful Ottery St Mary countryside, with various licensed areas to choose from, the manor offers the charm of a historic wedding venue with the convenience and comfort required for a seamless wedding weekend.

Weddings are available in the Cadhay gardens from 1st May to 30th September but it is possible to have a small intimate wedding and reception in the Manor House at any time.

Create The Perfect Wedding Weekend

Cadhay provides a magnificent and calm setting to enjoy this most important moment in your life. With our Manor House, extensive grounds and holiday cottages we can provide you with many different options for your wedding which can be tailored to meet your needs.

You may choose a traditional Church Wedding and then use the Cadhay estate for your Wedding Breakfast and Evening Celebrations with your nearest and dearest staying in the Manor House. Alternatively, you could hold your entire Wedding at Cadhay, including the ceremony and reception, the choice is entirely yours.

Cadhay is licensed for Civil Ceremonies, you can choose to get married in a choice of 3 different rooms in the Manor House, for a small and intimate wedding. If you’re planning something larger then you can get married in the Old Apple Store, Granary or the Bothy, located adjacent to our beautiful water gardens.

The Wedding Reception

Following your ceremony the Cadhay estate provides a spectacular back drop for your wedding photography. The house itself looks magnificent, then there’s our extensive grounds including our double English herbaceous border, clipped Yew trees, Medieval Fishponds, the walled kitchen garden and croquet lawn. Our beautiful gardens will help to provide you with unique and stunning photos to remember your special day.

If you are a planning a small wedding, with a maximum of 22 guests, you may like to have your wedding breakfast in the House. For larger weddings you can choose the Old Apple Store; a delightful converted barn and paved terrace, which can seat up to 80 people and is available for you to decorate as you wish. For weddings that are even larger you could hire a marquee which can be erected on the large front lawn overlooking the manor house and the gorgeous East Devon countryside. Adding the Granary offers you more options and choices from a quiet space, to a drinks reception.

Other than asking you to work with our approved marquee suppliers and caterers, the choices are all yours.

A perfect wedding location.

The house, the grounds and the rest of the buildings were so lovely. We really did have the best weekend of our lives, it was like a dream. The owner and support staff were all so helpful and fixed any issues really fast. Highly recommended.

The perfect wedding venue

We booked this venue for our wedding, staying the long weekend in the main house with our family. The venue is beautiful, the house facilities were great for 17 people with room to spare. Jayne, House Manager was more than helpful throughout the whole process of planning to the day of the event. We thoroughly enjoyed our special day and our stay at Cadhay and would eagerly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue.

Such an amazing historic home to borrow and share with family and friends for our wedding weekend. The best self catering property in the land, amazing grounds, and flexibility to have the wedding of your dreams.

A beautiful location for a memorable wedding

We chose to get married in the stunning roof chamber of Cadhay House and it was definitely the right decision. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful and well looked after the house, bedrooms and grounds were. The property struck the perfect balance of feeling like somewhere very special to celebrate, while also leaving us feeling very comfortable and at home for the weekend. Every bedroom is unique and well cared for and it was fantastic to feel like every guest was getting somewhere great to stay. Overall, the weekend was excellent value for money and Jayne was incredibly responsive and helpful in the run up and throughout our stay. We’d love to return as Cadhay is now incredibly special to us!

A superb venue for our wedding

We were welcomed into Rupert's family home and the rooms, furniture, feel and history were not lost on any of us staying. The intimate family wedding in the roof chamber was perfect, and wedding breakfast in the Apple Store. We all loved the relaxed feel of the house, the gardens are truly stunning and we could all explore, relax and come together over the weekend. Sunday afternoon garden party with more guests was perfect.

Wedding at Cadhay

The gardens were absolutely stunning and we were showered with compliments by our guests. (Which we later passed on to the gardeners). We hired Cadhay for our wedding reception and turned our big day into a big weekend. We filled all rooms including all the cottages and there was still plenty of space for everyone to find a quiet corner throughout the grounds. All staff at Cadhay are passionate about the house and it shows. I can fully recommend Cadhay for anyone planning their special day. 10/10.
